Travel Counsellors Update

To all PDPA Members who use Tina at Travel Counsellors for flights or European Tour Hotels.

We are making some important improvements to how your travel and hotels will be managed by our Travel Counsellors. 

There have been some challenges in recent years, particularly around hotel availability, communication and consistency, and Tina as we are genuinely grateful for your patience and honest feedback. That feedback has directly shaped the changes we are now putting in place, and the commitment is to deliver a higher and more reliable level of service going forward.

To support this, another Travel Counsellor, James Houltby, will be joining the account to manage much of the corporate and event travel activity. This is to support Tina and the PDPA. To....

  • Increasing capacity
  • Improving response times
  • Giving you a stronger, more reliable support team

James is an experienced Travel Counsellor trading as Onside Travel Management and he already :

  • Works with a range of sports clients
  • Has established and growing relationships within the darts community
  • Understands the demands of the darts calendar and the challenges of event travel

James operates fully under the Travel Counsellors umbrella, so you will continue to deal with the same trusted organisation, now with additional dedicated support. From the closing months of 2026 and into 2027, James and his team will take responsibility for:

  • Sourcing and managing Euro Tour and other European event hotels.
  • Handling individual hotel bookings for players and managers across the tour calendar.
  • Arranging flights, transfers and wider travel requirements within the UK, Europe and worldwide as part of a full-service corporate travel offering.

We will also introduce a clearer and more standardised booking process to provide:

  • Faster and more reliable confirmations
  • Better communication with hotels, especially for amendments and special requests
  • Greater consistency in service across all bookings

Some elements of the process may change slightly, but by you all following the agreed procedures, we will be able to offer a smoother and more efficient service throughout the year.

To support quicker communication, we are setting up a dedicated WhatsApp line for simple requests and updates. 

It will be easy to use and will help us capture the key information needed to progress enquiries and bookings efficiently, keeping communication as straightforward and responsive as possible.

Constructive feedback and open communication will remain vital. If something is not quite right, please tell us as early as possible so we can put it right and continue to improve. Your honest, practical feedback is always appreciated.

Tina will remain closely involved with the PDPA account, especially for the managers and players currently supported. Alongside the tour event travel, We also want to make sure you and your families are really looked after when you finally get some time off.My focus will be on:

  • Helping you with your personal and family travel, so you do not have to worry about any of the arrangements.
  • Securing exclusive offers and added extras specifically for PDPA members.
  • Creating relaxed, well planned breaks away from the oche, including city breaks, cruises, family holidays and tailor-made trips, so your precious downtime feels as easy and rewarding as possible.

Later in the summer we will share full contact details and a short guide to the new booking process, and we will begin trialing some of the new systems on selected Euro Tour events in 2026 where appropriate.In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact either James or myself (Tina) via the usual email address: [email protected].
