Littler has shattered a multitude of records across a pulsating nine days at the Winter Gardens, and he produced another irrepressible display to continue his reign of darting dominance.
The teenage phenom obliterated Phil Taylor’s previous record tournament average of 106.31 – set in 2010 – averaging an astounding 111.04 across his five matches.
The impregnable 19-year-old also recorded the highest average in a World Matchplay final, posting a mammoth 111.51 to become the fourth player to win back-to-back titles at the Empress Ballroom.
Littler remains on course to complete an unprecedented clean sweep of Premier televised titles this year, having also lifted World Championship, World Masters, UK Open, Premier League and World Cup titles in 2026.
The World Champion is yet to compete in a Players Championship event this season, although he’s now focused on securing qualification for November’s Players Championship Finals in a bid to preserve his chance of creating history.
