Clark Wins Open Holland Singles

MATT CLARK won Sunday's non-ranked Open Holland, defeating Peter Manley in the final.

Clark, the runner-up to Andy Hamilton in the recent Antwerp Open Mens Singles, went one better to take Sunday's title with a 3-1 sets victory against Manley.

Clark knocked out Michael van Gerwen in the last 32, and also overcame Denis Ovens and Andy Smith on his way to victory.  MORE AND FULL RESULTS

Barney Wins Amsterdam Casino Open Holland Masters

Raymond van Barneveld - 2008 Amsterdam Casino Open Holland Masters winner, courtesy BMAP - DoetinchemRAYMOND VAN BARNEVELD picked up his first PDC Pro Tour victory of 2008 at the Amsterdam Casino Open Holland Masters.

The Dutchman defeated Colin Osborne in straight sets in the final of the event in Schiedam to pick up the £5,000 first prize.

Adrian Lewis and Kevin Painter were disqualified by the Tournament Director for their conduct during their quarter-final match.

MERVYN KING won his first PDC title with a whitewash of Mark Dudbridge in the Scottish Sun Scottish Players Championship.

Where Jamie Harvey (right) had the chance to appear in front of his home Glasgow crowd in the event, which offered £20,000 prize money and was the best of five sets, best of three legs per set throughout.

Spectator admission tickets have now SOLD OUT, with selected games during the early rounds and the semi-finals and final being played on stage.

Phil Taylor - 2008 Antwerp Darts Trophy ChampionAntwerp Darts Trophy Win For Taylor

PHIL TAYLOR won his sixth successive PDC Pro Tour event with a 3-0 defeat of Andy Smith in the final of Saturday's Antwerp Darts Trophy.

Taylor is now unbeaten away from the television cameras for a month after continuing his brilliant run of form in Belgium.


He was a straight sets winner over Smith in the final, winning the first set 2-0 to take command before edging the next two 2-1 to claim the £5,000 title   

Wayne Mardle withdrew with a back problem, while Adrian Lewis and Alan Caves did not travel to Belgium for the £20,000 event.  Last years winner - Andy Smith is pictured right.

REPORTS from night 11 of the 2008 Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts at the Liverpool Echo Arena where Adrian Lewis stormed back to form in the Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts with an 8-2 rout of John Part in Liverpool.   Lewis suffered two heavy defeats in Aberdeen last week on his return from a virus - but showed no ill-effects to delight the crowd of nearly 8,000 at the Liverpool Echo Arena.     MORE

MICHAEL VAN GERWEN has joined the list of players who will compete in the 2008 PartyPoker.com Grand Slam of Darts.    The confirmation of the 2008 World Masters for December means that 2006 champion van Gerwen will be invited to compete in the Grand Slam of Darts, in accordance with the event inviting the past two years' finalists from major tournaments.

The 18-year-old Dutchman played in the inaugural Grand Slam of Darts last November, losing out to Mervyn King in his final group game to be denied a place in the last 16.   
Van Gerwen is now ranked 35th on the PDC Order of Merit after just over a year on the PDC circuit.    He is the latest addition to a high-quality field including World Champions John Part and Mark Webster, as well as Michael's successor as World Masters winner, Robert Thornton and two other brilliant youngsters, Kirk Shepherd and Kevin McDine.

2009 Whyte & Mackay Premier2008 Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts League Darts  -

The qualification criteria for the 2009 Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts has been amended.

The tournament will once again feature eight of the world's best players competing around the UK over three months next year.

In a change from previous years, the top six players in the PDC Order of Merit following the 2009 Ladbrokes.com PDC World Darts Championship will qualify by right for the tournament.   These six players will be joined by two Wildcard selections to be named during January following the World Championship.

In Previous Premier League events the top six players following October's SkyBet World Grand Prix win a place in the event. However, the decision to amend the qualification dates was made after the introduction of the European Championship later in the year as well as the expansion of the PDC Pro Tour, along with the record prize fund of £735,000 on offer at the 2009  Ladbrokes.com PDC World Darts Championship.

Wayne Mardle moves fourth following his fourth successive victory.
